The SEADRAGON 110 lens was designed to fill a serious void in the availability of a compact, ultra-wide angle, realistically priced High Definition lens for underwater video housings.
Optical performance (resolution, astigmatism, distortion, chromatic abberation, spherical aberration, ghosting and flare) had to be exceptionally good across the full 16:9 frame despite a high Field of View of at least 110 degrees underwater. No vignetting or noticeable light fall-off at the edges.
The 50 percent zoom limit allowed the final design to excel in optical performance and for the lens to be incredibly compact. Unlike large multi-element designs the SEADRAGON 110 is almost free of flare and ghosting when shooting towards the sun or other divers with lights.
