SEASTAR HID Underwater Video Lights
The color temperature of the SEASTAR HID lights is 6000 degrees Kelvin...a perfect daylight balance. No need to reset the camcorder's color balance while shooting long sequences, say following divers from outside a wreck as they swim into the dark interior. Latest generation bulbs and ballast electronics allow as many on-off cycles as necessary during a dive. The ballast electronics are completely sealed in silicone against water damage.
Perfect daylight balanced fill-in for video camcorders and VidDSLR's. Same illuminating output as an INON Z-240, but continous light. Suitable for still photos as well as video acquisition...no need for additional strobes!

Powerful, compact and lightweight...no cables...no separate battery packs.
The magnetic switch assembly can easily be removed for safety when transporting the SEASTAR, thus effectively preventing the HID from being inadvertently turned on. It re-attaches again in seconds.
Perhaps the most important component of SEASTAR HID's design is the unique reflector assembly. The shape and light-dispersing texture of the reflector is manufactured to exact HDVSEATEK specifications. The resultant cone of light is a perfect balance of relatively wide angle (90 degrees) and an even intensity which is perfect for underwater videography.
The SEASTAR has a high quality ABS injection-molded housing with a dense rubber-like coating on the front cap to absorb impact. Unlike aluminium, ABS is very lightweight yet has excellent impact and water pressure resistance. Corrosion is not an issue. The casings are made in the USA to military spec.
Double O-ring sealing provides double the security against leakage. A unique quick slide-on ball attachment makes it easy to remove the arms without undoing the ball clamps. The SEASTAR's dry weight is slightly over 2 kg. Underwater they are virtually neutral buoyancy (about 0.5 kg negative). Thus, even when used with the smaller video housings, they are perfectly balanced underwater..."top heaviness" is absolutely not an issue. For surface transportation, or handling by the boat crew, the support arms can be easily collapsed and the SEASTARs positioned comfortably on top of the housing. Being entirely self-contained the SEASTARs fit easily into a single travel bag....together with a compact housing.
